"Quiet Piggy?" Enough is enough...

a woman's response to a world where mysogynistic, powerfully stupid men think they know it all and can treat women with contempt and get away with it.

It isn’t often I get political, but when I do, I really do. Now, I am not one for big and eloquent words either, whilst I write poetry and share my writing here, it usually stems from my state school educated to GCSE standard brain. I never studied politics, or even poetry at school and while I love reading books they are usually non-fiction and a lot of the poetry I read I don’t understand. However, I am intelligent enough to see what is going on in the world at the moment, and I am angry enough to shout about it. So forgive me if this isn’t as well written as a journalistic piece you may read in a broadsheet newspaper, and whilst it lacks the journalistic qualities and in depth analysis you might find from a professional writer, I suspect it is how a lot of us feel, and it is written from the heart, from a post menopausal, disabled woman, who is sick to death of the way certain leaders are lauded as being the answer to the state of the world, when we all know they are the problem!! The following came from my journaling this morning and I have copied it exactly as I wrote it, as a stream of consciousness and my disgust at the way things are, but I wanted to share it in case it helped someone else articulate how they are feeling. The poem at the end is raw and unedited and does probably need more work, but I am all about being honest and posting ‘first drafts’ and so I have included it as well. Here we go:

‘Quiet Piggy’ the words of the President of the United States of America to a journalist who was asking him questions about Epstein. The man is a horrible mysogynist and somehow the leader of the free world. It seems that nobody can stop him, he has the ultimate power and shit loads of money, he can do and say whatever he wants and there is no-one powerful enough to stop him. Billionaires - and trillionaires, like Musk - are too afraid to speak up because they know they have got it so good right now, they have the ear of the President and can do what they want, including exploiting people - and the planet - to make make more and more money for themselves.

AI is destroying our planet, gross wealth for the 1% is increasing the poverty felt by billions across the globe, and the money which is fed into governments means politicians are controlled by greed and a desire to be known as brilliant and powerful - even if the general public thinks very little of them - it is disgusting. So, when the President of the USA calls a journalist ‘Piggy’ and tells her to be quiet he is unchallenged, not one of the other journalists present speaks to her defence, not one of them challenges him on his words, and yet he has clearly bullied and humiliated a woman in public. He has got away with it once again. When will the world realise that this man is evil? Tr*mp is clearly mentioned in the Epstein files, and yet we are still to read them, a vote was passed to release them but the veto belongs with the president, what’s the chances he overturns it? He is a potential peadophile (release the Epstien files!) and a rapist, and a gross mysogynist, and he holds all the power, what has our world come to? This man holds court with leaders of other countries, dictators and genocidal rulers, and smirks, because he knows he is like the cat who got the cream, he is winning and there is nobody out there smart enough to outwit him - well, they are smart enough, but not powerful enough, he would probably have them castrated or thrown into prison if they dare speak up against him. He most definitely would publically humiliate them, he already does.

It is sinful. Yet, even the Christians are supporting him too - we cannot for a second believe that this man, this horrible man, has been sent from god to transform our world for the better? Are they insane? I have no words... this madness is spreading over here too, in the UK we are not immune to this sadistic behaviour, only we are a little less public with the displays of personal ridicule and abuse to those who speak out against it.

Nigel Farage has been to the school of Donald Tr*mp and is planning on making the UK more like America, his cronies are following behind like lemmings, unaware of the damage they will do if they succeed. An organisation of racists, mysogynists, sex offenders (alledgedly) and billionaires leading our country, it is grossly unfair - but Farage isn’t quite in power yet, or is he? Labour seem intent on feeding from the same trough, implementing cruel policies that will detriment disabled people, the elderly, those who are already in poverty, and those seeking assylum, with seemingly no heart. The Tories are not far behind them - albeit with a radically reduced membership thanks to their cruel policies that got us to this point - and the only people standing up against them are belittled and ignored by the mass media.

Zack Polanski, the leader of the Green Party is championing new ways of equality and fairness, he speaks up against the cruel tactics and policies of the current, and future governments, and has given us all - who vote Green - a vision of hope for this country. One not seen for a very long time. Yet, frequently, he is ignored and cast aside by a media organisations who prefer the harmful rhetoric of the right, who hang on to the words of Nigel Farage with salivating lips and a hungry dog expression on their faces. I beleive that the Green Party have a strong chance of change in this country - if only Jeremy Corbyn and Zara Sultana were not biting at his heels - denying the hope that the Greens bring, they are championing their own party - named Your Party to make us think that we really have a say when we all know that they will never let the people speak if it means them getting where they want to be. Jeremy Corbyn is on a personal mission to get to Number 10 by any means possible, and there is absolutely no way he will surrender that goal in order to work alongside the Greens, and Zack Polanski, to allow real hope to make a difference.

So, the Greens are cast aside, seen as insignificant and not given the platform that other leaders have been given. Only time will tell if we will see true people-led politics in this country one day, where politicians who actually care about us, and the environment that we are living in, can truly make a difference and stand up against the powerful majority, billionaires and men like Trump, to bring them down.

One can only hope...

Again, I don’t know where this came from this morning, but here we are. I am not a political writer, or a journalist, and my words are possibly not as coherent as they could be. I am just one person writing from the heart. I want to make a difference with my words though, and if this writing can help one other person to belive in HOPE and vote for change, to get involved with their local Green Party if in the UK (and whatever the equivalent is in America) and make a difference in their own community then it will be worth it. I for one will be doing all I can locally to make a change for good, and hoping against all hope that we will see national and global change for good, for disabled, elderly, poverty stricken, assylum seeking people everywhere - and for our planet!

Quiet Piggy

Difficult women, asking questions
Awkward women, writing books
Bossy women, running businesses
Crazy women, speaking up

Quiet little Piggy
just pipe down
be silent darlin
Listen to the clown

Outrageous women, taking charge
Ignorant women, won’t stay quiet
Lying women, making claims
Petulant women, playing games

Quiet little piggies 
don’t say a word
shut your mouths
don’t be heard

But the only little piggies pointing their fingers
are the fat and the wealthy, the men who hold power
while women are busy with mouths to feed. 
We won’t just stop while things are rough
we will run businesses, and write our books
Women have had enough of your crap
we won’t keep quiet and we won’t hold back

So suck it up piggy
don’t you dare keep us quiet
stop pointing your fingers and 
thinking we won’t riot

We’ll take to the streets
we’ll make a noise
making trouble for the billionaire boys

We’re menopausal, bleeding, warrior women
child-bearing machines, with minds of our own
strong and courageous, together we’re strong
taking a stand and singing battle songs

So be quiet fat piggy
you don’t stand a chance
keep your hands to yourself
and your dick in your pants!
