Poem - Night
February Poetry Adventure Day 28
Phew! It’s the final day!! I have loved this adventure, and I have loved sharing every day, but I am knackered! It has been such an adventure, writing new poems, ones that will possibly be edited in the future and ones that won’t see the light of day again, but each one, stretching my brain and making me brave enough to share it anyway, regardless if anyone reads them, likes them or is sick of seeing me posting!!
Today’s final prompt is NIGHT and I wanted to share a little encouragement for those who are feeling desperate about the state of the world, and sad that there doesn’t seem to be any hope, those glory days of the past, long behind us.
Night
All good things must come to an end or so they say? But why? Why must we curtail our joy in the good? Who makes these rules? I do not want the good times to end I want to revel in them forever, soak my whole self in all that is good, until it oozes from my pores and spreads, like a virus, throughout the world. They have conned us into believing their lies that our joy should be shortlived. So, as the day turns into night and the darkness descends, we believe it all to be over. Not so, the joy cannot be snuffed out of our hearts unless we let it, so party on my friends, stoke the fire burning within you, keep HOPE alive, and never let them dim your light.
So, there we are, the February Poetry Adventure is over for another year. Look out next Feb and see if we do it again, but in the meantime, keep writing, keep sharing and keep loving life!! Oh, and do check out Petra Hernandez page to see all the fabulous poems written over the last 28 days and fill your heart with a little more joy!
Until next time (definitely not tomorrow!!)
